Tips
Many of my clients have asked me about tips for heating and plumbing, here are some ideas that will keep everything functioning the way they should!
Helpful Tips:
- Repair dripping faucets:
- Dripping faucets can waste 12 gallons of water in 24 hours.
- Disconnect appliances and shut off water main if possible while on vacation.
- Clean dryer discharge vents every 6 months.
- Garbage Disposals can be cleaned with a large tray of ice cubes.
- Don't forget to run the water before you turn on disposal.
- If you have cast Iron waste Pipes or a Septic System You should be using Bio clean to eliminate residue build up on the walls of your waste pipes and along the bottom of your septic tank.
- If You have a Root Problem in your sewer pipes, You should be using the Rootex root inhibitor. It stops pipe root growth for 9 months.
Disposal Tips:
A few tips before paying for a plumbing service call, if your Insinkerator Disposal is not working.
A. Always run water when using disposal.
B. Check for power to unit & depress reset button on bottom of unit ( as shown in fig #4 ) before trying to use it again.
C. If disposal has power to it but it still hums and nothing is moving inside of it. Then the internal cutters are jammed and the contents needs to be cleared from the cutters. This should only be done by a Professional.
